You're misunderstanding the issue. It's not that americans don't have political candidates that support particular interests, it's that american people can't understand simple moralistic ideals like not being racist, sexist, homophobic, violent, egotistic or invasive to others, and instead substitute their own (BAT SHIT INSANE RELIGIOUS) ideas of what morals are.
