Swiss company moves factory 60 metres, literally!Swiss company moves factory 60 metres, literally!

(1:27) Making way for the expansion of a railway line, Swiss company SPS moved its Machine Factory Oerlikon building, all 6,200 tons of it, in one piece, 60 metres along. Even Peter Lehmann, their chief investment officer said that maybe it was a crazy idea. Next video shows how the move was made.

We don't see the final position of the building as it still hasn't arrived. This is due to a signal failure 5m from the end.

I have never seen anything so ridiculous in all of my days! What a waste of money, especially when people are starving over there in Africa! It is obvious: the rail tracks should have been moved instead of the poor chocolate factory. My heavens!

Latest comment: The Africans have nobody else but themselves to blame. If the got up of their lazy arses and did a days work, they'd have something to eat. Instead of sitting around all day waiting for the west hand them money.

Is that Oerlikon as in "anti-aircraft gun"?

only possible due to the balloons on the roof taking the weight, apparently
