Wonder what kind of car... Windshield seems to be made of plain glas, not safety glas.

windscreens are generally laminate, as in this case, so if it breaks whilst you are driving you can still see out and the the broken bits of glass stay together due to the flexible inter-layer.
Side windows are toughened (tempered) and break into granules - making it somewhat easier to escape from an up-turned car if these are shattered, pretty sure this an E.U. wide safety standard - can anyone add to this?
