Christian teen journalists walk out after 'bullshit in the Bible' comments

(3:21) Nearly a dozen of high school journalists walked out of a lecture by gay activist Dan Savage at the National High School Journalist Conference in Seattle, after he pointed out the hypocrisy of insisting that because it is written in the Bible, it must be right, while accepting the Bible did get some things wrong, notably slavery.

I'm a big fan of people who live their life by every line of the Bible. Here's a good one for you. Ask them if they are familar with Luke 6:30 New International Version (NIV) "Give to everyone who asks you, and if anyone takes what belongs to you, do not demand it back." See if they put their money where their faith is.

Latest comment: Well argued by Dan Savage. And a very poor showing by people who should know better.

Someone can't count. This was one of two isles and there was easily 20 people leaving by this exit. Knuckleheads, each and every one of 'em!

So...their careers as journalists are over before they've begun. Not much point pursuing a career searching for the truth in order to tell the world about it if you're going to walk away from every single newsworthy collection of words that does not meet with your personal views. Good job they weren't asked to cover a speech given by Abu Hamza.

Allthough he is rght, it was stupid to start the argument with offending the christian listeners. He shoudl have sneaked in the point. But like this, only those with his point of view were listening. Not effective.

What a strange reaction!.....most christians, when confronted with the truth, usually take the "fingers in ears la la la la la I can't hear you" approach, so well done to them, for adopting a more proactive "run away" approach...!

At least they were confident enough to stand up for what they believe. They were not embarassed. If he had any empathy he would of reasoned rather than just 'crowd please' by making brash statements!

Really dumb thing to say. Their 'belief' requires a lack of reasoning and empathy, thats the whole point. You applaud standing up for a lack of reasoning and empathy and criticise confronting it by inverting the facts. Well done, you must believe that the bible is the word of god even though it states that it isn't. Congratulations on being an evolutionary step behind the rest of us.
