Pat Robertson denounces creationism!

(1:46) Has Televangelist Pat Robertson come to his senses? He claimed that over 300 years ago, the Archbishop of Ireland James Ussher "wasn't inspired by the Lord when he said that it all took 6,000 years."

No, he's probably one of the many wackos that thinks it's possible to agree with evolution and believe in the bible at the same time.

Did you just call the Queen of England a wacko? "Queen Elizabeth the Second, by the Grace of God Queen of this Realm and of Her other Realms and Territories, Head of the Commonwealth, Defender of the Faith."

I was talking about Televangelist Pat Robertson; however, if the Queen of England believes in evolution and the bible at the same time, she's a wacko too. Luckily we have freedom of speech here in America. Not sure if you could make that same statement if you live in the UK.

Latest comment: Here in TN, they have taken steps though new legislation to allow creationism back into the classroom. This law turns the clock back nearly 100 years here in the seemingly unprogressive South and is simply embarrassing. There is no argument against the Theory of Evolution other than that of religious doctrine. The Monkey Law only opens the door for fanatic Christianity to creep its way back into our classrooms. You can see my visual response as a Tennessean to this absurd law on my artist’s blog at LINK with some evolutionary art and a little bit of simple logic.

Pat Robertson's acknowledgement of evolution demonstrates remarkable courage and intellectual progress. He is making this statement publicly to his viewers and financial supporters, most of whom are less cognitively sophisticated than he is. The bible was never intended to be a biology textbook, but a series of 'histories', poems, allegories, and lessons to help believers understand purpose, place and morality. There is no conflict in believing both in a scientific view of the origins of the universe and the bible. To assert that you can't believe both is a false dichotomy.

Are you saying the baby Jesus wasn't born on Christmas Day because if you are then that's just spoilt it for everyone. I hope you're proud of yourself
