Piers Morgan vs Jesse Ventura on gun control

Piers Morgan vs Jesse Ventura on gun control

(4:25) Before Sandy Hook, but after the Colorado 'Batman' massacre in July 2012. American politician, former Governor of Minnesota and former pro-wrestler Jesse Ventura argues that the right to bear arms is actually for the people's protection against their own government turning into a brutal dictatorship.

I don't have a gun to shoot rabbits to eat them or to hunt deer for recreation. I have a gun so that, when the rabbits and deer get together to form a dictatorship, I will be ready. And don't get me started on those koala bears - shifty little buggers.

Interesting perspectives that no one seems to address: 1) Should teachers be employed according to their gun skills? 2) Why do gun advocates always assume that they would be able to "take out" a murderer? Maybe they'll just be gunned down too. 3) How likely is it that an excited teacher - surprised and concerned with the welfare of her students – with a presumable small handgun, would be able to bring down a cynical killer with a collection of assault weapons?

I think the real problem is that, a lot of Americans secretly wish to kill another human being, if the opportunity arises. It gives them an all empowering feel. Its funny tho, its also one of the most Christian believing country in the world. One might think they are good hearten of nature by that account as the Lord preaches that to mankind. But i think the strict self restrain religious believes they impose on them self, makes them vulnerable by self criticism. There gun law kind of remove that, and empowers them again.

It's ironic that the right wing government, who backs the 2nd amendment, is also the best reason for having it. Like the democrats will really turn into a dictatorship. btw... guns are made specifically to kill, cars are not. Cars are also more strictly controlled through licensing, insurance and Hwy traffic laws.
