Vivos doomsday shelter tour

Vivos doomsday shelter tour

(4:39) Luxury bunkers for when the world ends. California-based company Vivos has built a network of underground shelters designed to withstand a 20 megaton blast from two miles. This is one of the smaller Vivos shelters with accommodations for 80 people for up to one year of autonomous underground survival. The largest shelter can accommodate over 2,000 people. I don't like it. It's like an old people's home.

Perfectly good homes that can't be used until the world ends. What's the point?

Vivos are missing a trick - they could rent out the bunkers with a clause saying you have to vacate when the world ends.

Vivos have hit the nail on the head. They are getting people to pay for leases in real-estate that will never be lived in. There are next to no upkeep costs and, no doubt, charged at a premium rate. Bloody good business model if you ask me.

Latest comment: Anarchy? Anarvhy is about having no leaders and masters, about the people governing themselves. Only the governments and media and muppets that believe them think that anarchy means people going mad and killing eachother and ******* up the world. Believe me if we did not have governments like we do now the world will be a much much safer place and we wouldn't need to build shelters with led glowing pint glass holders in the cinema room to survive.

For all those doomsday people wanting to do this, it's pretty useless to have a shelter designed to withstand a 20 megaton blast when the asteroid that killed the dinosaurs was equivalent to a 100 teraton blast (100,000 megatons). Even if you consider how rare it is to be hit by an asteroid like that, one of our volcanoes (La Garita Caldera) has produced a 240 gigaton blast too. These shelters are nice if you believe we are going to war or for tornato and hurricane preparedness but definitely not for a nuclear war (radiation will contaminate your surroundings when you attempt to leave) or a doomsday scenario like a huge asteroid collision.

a 100 terraton blast is actaully 100,000,000 megatons but yeah silly people with too much money. Maybe the cost gives them some (admittedly false) peace of mind I guess.
