Algebra does help me survive. I use mathematics heavily in my career and my career pays me money and I use that money to buy food and shelter. Maybe I'm not understanding his point.

Listening to him would help... It's not the specific act of doing algebra for example that he's examining, it's the fact that you have the capability to do algebra that is the point, not the algebra itself....dumb ass!

That you found this difficult to understand is quite telling. I think if you were religious, you'd believe the Bible literally, because you'd find the complexity of juggling evolution with God, alien to your way of thinking. It's as if you look at the world through powerful binoculars that reveal a lot of detail, but you never remove the binoculars - so you never see the overall picture. There you go, that's my amateur analysis of your mind at work - what do you think?
