i may consider myself a gnostic atheists, but these 2 guys are a bunch of perverted predators. They just set up their spider web, just waiting for an insect to fly straight into it and then BAM! they pissed all over that poor dumb-ass... in public. I bet they feel smarter now. "HA HA, you're a christian idiot! circular argument! ha ha, I'm so smart" . the one on the right is bald and fat and he probably has a small pecker and the other one is coward who can barely put out a couple of words, completely dominated by mister fat head there . Does any atheist around here, other than me, has respect and admiration for this new pope Francis?

Matt Dilahunty (on the right) set up this channel as a counter to TV channels dedicated to organised religion (in Austin, Texas area) which generate a lot of money for unspecified recipients. Nobody forces the callers to ring in; the atheists explain why they don't believe in a god and will debate calmly and rationally. Unlike the preachers on the religious channels, these people don't promise what they have no way to deliver, they don't threaten eternal damnation or condemn anyone for their belief. They are offering a different point of view.

@ guest123456789. Why are you surprised they're not dead yet? Do you believe that atheism is seen as a threat? Sinister? Subversive? All these folks are trying to do is level a steeply sloping playing field to some extent, but without wanting money for a direct line to some imaginary supreme being or plane of bliss. Reasoned debate and discussion is better than unthinking faith as far as I can see.

yes yes and yes, especially in that part of the world. ""Reasoned debate and discussion is better than unthinking faith as far as I can see."" of course it is, but they're not going for that, because they are well aware that the other side is irrational and faithful; no such debate could ever take place, that's why they have to mute the callers at least 10 times before they hang up, only to conclude that the majority of them are retarded (which we already knew). At best, these videos give other atheists Case studies of christian arguments and how to win the "debate" by debunking every single one of them. What the videos don't do is to provide a reasoned debate : for a reasoned debate to take place, all sides must adhere to reason. They're just spiders catching flies. Some nutter might just try to kill one of them ""eek! spider!""

... they're just getting their kicks by humiliating poor bastards for the world to see, which makes them feel superior. It validates them, and they're doing it all under the pretext that ""they are trying to level a steeply sloping playing field to some extent, but without wanting money for a direct line to some imaginary supreme being or plane of bliss"" . No, they do it to validate themselves, just like Christians go to church to validate themselves, just like I'm commenting right now on this post. :)

Latest comment: These guys have said it many times and nothing they have done or said in the couple of years ive followed the show has directly contradicted this: they argue that they are NOT necessarily trying to "convert" people out of religion. They acknowledge that people who call in believing stupid things for irrational reasons are very probably not going to be argued out of believing them using reason. They suggest however, that their not-so-obvious audience is everyone else watching/listening to the show. Matt D. has gone so far as to say that his target audience is everyone "on the fence" about religion, or "closeted" atheists that dont feel comfortable going against the status quo and openly claim that they are atheists. The callers are just providing real-life god-related irrational beliefs. This show takes those beliefs and "picks them apart" for all the world to see. Not to embarrass them as a main objective, but to embarrass them in front of an audience precisely by showing how wrong/stupid those wide-spread beliefs really are. It is a subtle, yet important distinction.
