This kind of low tech ingeuity seems very clever, until you realize it is at the the cost of high tech jobs for Americans who could be making electronic and software-controlled door closers using advanced DSP chips made at a cutting edge Denver fab, and the latest 5G HLLs comign out of US universities, plus some fancy and expensive stainless stell fitting that could have been made using unique and novel process developed in the modern steel mills of Pittsburgh. But no, this selfish gentleman builds something so childishly simple to do the same job that the Chinese can copy it in 10 picoseconds and then sell it via the economic trapdoor of Walmart for a $0.99 at a 95% markup, sending more dollars to Beijing, so they can buy more US debt and put more Americans on the unemployment line. How clever is that?

Stupid. How is it different than closing the door yourself? You spend more energy this way.
