Why are so many violent criminals walking free?

Why are so many violent criminals walking free?

(2:43) 59% of rape cases and 36.2% of murder cases in the US are never solved. Professor of criminal law Alex Kreit argues that the real beneficiaries of the war on drugs are the violent criminals who get never get caught. LearnLiberty.org/

Once again, proof - if any were needed - that most humans are stupid. The evidence for decriminalising ALL drugs is huge, while the belief that drugs are 'bad' is much greater. The operative words here are 'evidence' and 'belief'.

This video compares uncomparable things. There are far more viable reasons why crime, diseases and use dropped in Portugal. First, Portugal is South-European/Mediterran ean country where people are laid back by nature and do not tend to commit violent crimes. They would rather sleep it over than engage in any activity, including criminal. This behavior is largely due to climate, where you simply can't do many activities even if you wanted. Secondly, Portugal is a very religious nation - for atheists, read it like "tradition boud", where very little people feel like they don't belong anywhere or have no responsibility to others. Family is still a highest regarded element of society. And thirdly, Portugal is not an economic haven and money isn't everywhere, resulting in that Portugal does not have many immigrants and people who have no ties in society. Portugal also consists of virtually only Portugese, whih less than 2% of others. Plus there aren't many rich people to operate large scale money businesses where crime kicks in. It is hugely different than US - there aren't people from all cultures and from everywhere on the streets without rooted (dis)respect in their last names. And yes, family takes care of most of the problems, not social services of the state. Ofcourse, there are loose cannons everywhere, but in Portugal you at least know who is who and where they belong, while in US you mostly have no idea who is who and from where and there is a large number of single immigrants who have no anchor, especially in large cities and especially out of mixes of races, cultures and traditions that often result in what doesn't mix well. Not to mention the rate of broken marriages after insignificant time. In Portugal everyone has large family, in US most people don't have family at all. Also, 17% decrease is very relative to exact numbers involved - is it 17 less out of 100 or 170.000 less out of 1.000.000? And comparing to what total population number?
