Oh dear lord. Do our tax dollars really pay people to do this? Hopefully these people were furloughed and deemed non essential. We don't need drummers in our war machines.

These are students at the academies. Just like most other colleges, they have marching bands, sports teams, everything else in modern learning centers. Nobody is getting paid. Notice the numbers on the Air Force guys shoulders, that's their class year. I imagine this was taken at a football game. And our armed forces need drummers far more than our country needs able-bodied adults sitting on their ass collecting tax-funded benefits for life. And the Army won hands down.

They might not be getting paid yet but once they join the Army or Air Force, they will be paid to do this "work." It is unnecessary and costs money. We have a budget crisis in America and need to cut all this waste. As for the adults collecting tax-funded benefits for life, those people earned it by retiring from the military. They put in their time, they get what was promised to them. I don't like that it's so easy to retire in 20 years but we all have the same option to risk our lives and join the military too but some of us didn't want the forced structure of military life so we entered the private sector where we pay into social security and get employer pensions (usually vested after just 5 years of employment).

That's a joke, son. Look at the video at 9:10. The drums are Yamaha and the heads are Evans. BTW - Armies have always had drummers, either for keeping formation together when marching into battle or relaying commands. It's not necessary now, but I like the tradition. I don't mind paying for it.

Latest comment:

Nice drumming, and definitely Army won--more drums working in tandem and more complex composition. Pro America , you need to flush out your headgear. You want to get rid of waste in the military? There's dozens of projects that are total boondoggles and each has cost US taxpayers more than the sum total of every drum made in the past century. The Comanche project alone cost SEVEN BILLION DOLLARS and didn't produce a single field-ready helicopter. LINK Idiot.

no, your tax dollars go on multimillion dollar planes that go straight from the factory to a storage site in AZ, and many more examples. if you had a lot more drum players instead, you might not had a 17 trillion dollar debt.
