Lab robots work faster than any human ever could

Isn't this wonderful? When the costs of labor gets so expensive that it actually is worth buying a million dollar robot to replace all those people. The robots don't complain about the working conditions, the low pay, not enough vacation, sick time, etc.

jobs get moved to servicing the robots. less jobs but higher pay, not to mention parts and maintenance costs. Also, software maintenance gets moved to a call centre in India, so less jobs for Americans. US citizens are not going to tolerate this any longer., so load up on guns, silver booze and canned food.

It is still significantly fewer jobs. It would take 8 hours a day, 7 days a week, for 12 years to do the same amount of work with humans this one robot does in a week. That is equivalent to 18 - 20 full time employees. Then if you factor in that was only one week and the robot can work the whole year, that becomes 936-1040 employees. Substantial savings because you could have one person servicing 20 robots.

this doesn't work without globalisation. No jobs = no consumers.
