Doug Stanhope - The problem with charity

(1:56) When tornados tore through Oklahoma in May 2013, CNN interviewed some of the survivors. Most thanked Jesus for killing only their neighbours, but one girl meekly admitted she was an atheist. That inspired American comedian Doug Stanhope to step in and help.

Latest comment: Anti-theists are just as irritating as Bible Thumpers. Both can still help those in need, but the latter tend to do more so than the former.

What is that atheist going to do with the money? Her house was probably covered by insurance (a requirement when you finance a house with a mortgage). I hope she donates it to a church so it can be put to some good use helping others in need.

Is that not considered an "act of God", and hence insurance doesn't pay out?

Most churches do help out the needy. LINK There are thousands of other organizations just like that one.
