The unfortunate problem is that the people in congress are mostly millionaires and don't care how much they are paid. I admire you for trying, anything is better than what you've got at the moment.

Millionaires don't care what they are paid? Billionaires certainly do as bonus culture proves. Thousandaires do because money is always tight. So why not millionaires?

Latest comment: That person was probably trying to say the income congressmen get from being in congress is very little compared to their net worth so money is not the motivation for them having that job. They take it on to do good for the country, in their opinion. Do you think Mitt Romney wanted to be President for the income potential of that job? He is already a multi-millionaire worth about $250 million so his $400,000 compensation to be President of a huge country is not much.
