Not much that I could see; his hands were well away from the chain-blade. I suppose a clamp or two for a more secure mount of the device would make the contraption more steady. He's not going to have a kickback issue cutting along the top.

I'd say his hands were getting pretty close to the blade by the end of the log. If he slipped or tripped there's nothing to stop his hand/arm/face going onto the blade.

Yes, I'm sure he'll be careful to begin with - up to the point where familiarity breeds contempt and a trip to the hospital.
