TYT - How big is Gaza?

(12:42) "Make sure and tell everyone. Because in five minutes we will strike the target" says the voice on the line. Israel's military warn residents of Gaza to leave before their homes are obliterated. But where do they run to? The Young Turks host Cenk Uygur breaks it down.

If they had anything but self grandisement they would treat their people with decency, and try to have an agreement.. Hamas wants war more than israel.. they professed since 1948 that israel should be obliterated. OK its their turn, and I mean Hamas.. not the poor slobs pavloved into thinking they are something

Are you one of these?

In a campaign to improve its image abroad, the Israeli government plans to provide scholarships to hundreds of students at its seven universities in exchange for their making pro-Israel Facebook posts and tweets to foreign audiences. The students making the posts will not reveal online that they are funded by the Israeli government, according to correspondence about the plan revealed in the Haaretz newspaper.

You claim, "Hamas wants war more than israel.. they professed since 1948 that israel should be obliterated." so it seems you are the one peddling one-sided claptrap as Hamas has only been around since 1987.

Something that has been going on since 1948 and longer is the Zionists' preparedness to use terrorism LINK to further its land-grabbing aims.

Why are these people not being tried as war criminals?

I was shocked to learn how small Gaza is. For those who know London, Gaza would fit comfortably inside the North/South Circular.

95% of Israelis are behind their government due to a lifetime of propaganda. This is the ugly face of Zionism following a plan which was laid down a long time ago. It is a very sad day for Israelis. What have you become? And we the USA and the rest of the world watch with hands drenched in blood in the comfort of our homes. What have we all become?

Let's look at some simple facts. 1. No Israelis in Gaza since 2007. Hamas shoots missles into Israel every year and builds tunnels into Israel. 2. Israel warns people when it is about to bomb. Hamas builds its HQ under a hospital. 3. Hamas official policy is to exterminate the state of Israel. 20+% of the population of Israel is Palestinian (and 12 are in the Knesset). 4. Israel, right now, is providing electricity and food to Gaza. Hamas is still "providing" missles to Israel. If there is some big conspiracy by the Israelis to wipe out or subjugate the Palestinians they are sure going about it the wrong way.

You seem to be missing one very important point.
5. Israel is occupying Palestine and continues to build settlements with no regard for international law. (What would you do if someone threw you and your family out of your house, took away all your rights, and kept you in a cage?)

You are right of course. And Palestinian kids are also brainwashed.

Children are born with empty heads ready to be filled with whatever their family, peers, government, culture want. That's evolution's method for passing on the skills necessary for survival.

This brainwashing (that happens to all of us) is incredibly powerful - powerful enough to make fully grown rational men and women believe Noah's Ark actually happened, or that 72 virgins are waiting impatiently in heaven.

The thing about brainwashing, is that it's easy to see it in others, but not in yourself. I doubt I would be an atheist if I was born in Gaza.

If you were born in Gaza you would probably be dead! This is not a movie or some computer game to get all philosophical about. Israel is slaughtering women and children under the pretext of self defence - but this is Zionism following the plan. Wake up Walter!

When two fundamentalist groups are at loggerheads, each with god on their side, it's time to get philosophical, because it will only end when one side wipes out the other. It's looking like that's Netanyahu's game plan.

Also, from the comfort of your armchair, what does "get all philosophical" even mean? Is the opposite to "get all philosophical", take action?

Yes! Take action, the world needs to stand up to Israel. They are slaughtering women and children. Netanyahu is just following the Zionist game plan. (two fundamentalist groups are at loggerheads, each with god on their side) That's just washing your hands of everything. "The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing." - Edmund Burke

He also said this:

From Mahatma Gandhi´s article on Zionism, Jews and Palestine, originally published in Harijan magazine, 26 November, 1938

...There are hundreds of ways of reasoning with the Arabs, if they will only discard the help of the British bayonet. As it is, they are co-sharers with the British in despoiling a people who have done no wrong to them. I am not defending the Arab excesses. I wish they had chosen the way of non-violence in resisting what they rightly regarded as an unwarrantable encroachment upon their country. But according to the accepted canons of right and wrong, nothing can be said against the Arab resistance in the face of overwhelming odds.

Thinking about it, I'd like to amend "Children are born with empty heads..." Children are born atheists - then they are brainwashed into whatever their family etc. believe. I had a religious spurt when I was younger, but I soon snapped out of that.

As usual you deliberately miss the point, If Hamas gave any thought to their people rather than themselves, they would stop wasting money chucking impotent missiles, and spend it on benefiting the populace. They would drop their political claptrap posturing, go to school and learn Israel is there to stay. Make peace, and gradually, possibly, get the country they lost through THEIR INITIAL INVASION back, or at least co-owned. No, too self satisfied with the unintelligent " we hate you " outlook.Last comment... funny how only the masses are being killed, where is hamas? Qatar?

JADED.. bit stupid to quote Burke, without reading and understanding the sentence. It completely demolishes your debate. Good men ARE doing something, the Israelis are fighting the evil that is Hamas and they, Hamas, are not being triumphant. thought for JAK, the arabs joined together in 1948 to wipe jews off the face of the earth. They lost. That continuation of hitlers creed is what Hamas still professes. they are being coralled, like any wild beast

Hamas ( the ISIS of gaza ) is a continued extension of palestinian thought, only the names and places have been altered. If their ideas were so selfless, why have the egyptians turned fully against them, and why has Jordan lived alongside israel easily since coming to accept each other. PS I'm not israeli or jewish.

Israel creates the likes of Hamas out of pure desperation of the Palestinians.

"The occupation of the West Bank, now the longest occupation in history, leads to daily disruption and humiliation of Palestinians. The continued building of settlements with no regard for international law, restriction of movement of people and goods and the detention of children in Israeli gaols are hardly the actions of a good neighbour." - Sir Nicholas Soames, the grandson of the Winston Churchill
