All deparment stores in Tokyo will do that all through the year. And they don't charge you extra. I have been to that store and seen them do it - it is impressive, but they do it all the time. Plus Japanese products are most often in square boxes - makes life easier for them.

I think the point is about how quickly she wrapped it rather than the fact they're offering it as a service.
