Sam Harris and Maajid Nawaz on the future of Islam

(25:44) Atheist Sam Harris and Muslim Maajid Nawaz discuss their collaboration to change the future of Islam. Maajid Nawaz's background is particularly interesting. He was a member of the radical Islamist group Hizb ut-Tahrir. Arrested in Egypt in 2001, he was imprisoned until 2006. While in prison, he had a change of heart which led him leave Hizb-ut-Tahrir in 2007 and renounce his Islamist past. He co-founded Quilliam, a counter-extremism think tank that seeks to challenge the narratives of Islamist extremists. Today he is a Lib-Dem politician for Hampstead and Kilburn in London. Sam Harris/Maajid Nawaz's book 'Islam and the Future of Tolerance: A Dialogue' is available from: Amazon.co.uk and Amazon.com
