Here's a strange thought. Don't elect Donald Trump and the whole crackpot idea evaporates. Result? No cost to anyone.

Hmmm. That's a lot of steel. Visit Pittsburgh lately? We no longer manufacture steel, we buy it from China. Will be buy an outsourced wall, to stop Mexicans from leaving the US?

Part of the wall has already been built so you don't need to recreate a wall that's already there.

"As a result of the Secure Fence Act passed in 2006, the government built some 650 miles of wall along the 1,954-mile US-Mexico boundary." LINK

"You don't need to recreate a wall that's already there."

Did you actually read the link you posted? It says:

"What stands in Texas is a fragmented series of fencing, composed of enormous steel bars embedded in concrete close together.... There are miles of gaps between segments and openings in the fence itself."

You do need to recreate a wall that isn't actually a wall, but is just a 'fragmented series of fencing'.

Seriously, why do people here post links that they can't even be bothered to read themselves?
