$20 for an LED light and $3 every six months doesn't seem economically feesible.

You can get an extremely bright CREE LED XM-L that produces 1000 lumens. It only takes 3A at 3.35V at the brightest setting. Running that for 8 hours a day for 183 days uses approximately 14,640 Watt hours. I only pay 11 cents per Kwh so that would only cost me $1.61 every 6 months.

Places like Australia pay something like 22 cents so that is still only $3.22 without the initial $20 investment and having to get replacement parts and filling it up with water daily. I bet it's also brighter at 1000 lumens than her invention which probably just barely glows.

What happens to the water that makes it so it stops working after 8 hours? Does the chemical pack change the salt water into something else? Probably breaks down the salt into something else. Anyone know what it breaks down into? Dangerous Sodium and Dangerous Chloride?
