And to keep the record straight, corporations are forbidden to give to candidates directly. They can give to a PAC or Super PAC but then the candidate has absolutely zero control about what goes on with those. They cannot coordinate anything with the PACs so they don't have the ability to tell them to refuse the money or dictate what the money will be spent on.

You can have any group you consider to be bad contribute to a Super PAC and then claim the candidate took money from them. That is simply not a fair campaign discussion.

Superpacs are another reason why democracy is dead in the USA and has been for decades. Multi-billionaires have no limit on what they can donate to candidate-specific superpacs, and don't they just know it. The top 3 (disclosed) individual donors account for more than 75 MILLION dollars alone.

The laws against coordination are utterly laughable, and are frequently circumvented by press releases, leaked memos, blog posts etc. etc. There are 1001 ways candidates can coordinate their superpac funding, as these electoral campaigns have shown.

Even soliciting for the funding is possible when you can restrict the number of people in those discussions to only those with a vested interest.

If you haven't noticed this corruption then you're a fool. Until this kind of obscene money is removed from US politics then they will never have true democracy.

I always thought it was big Middle Eastern money going into their Canadian charity that kept them going. This is chicken feed.

Only God knows who is better. And since He's not giving any guidance, best avoid them both. Get Jill Stein and Gary Johnson into the debates and watch heads explode. Americans would love to have more choice.

Why bring god into it? Are you obsessed? Maybe god has made Trump as openly obnoxious and inexperienced as possible so if we vote him in it will be on our heads. The curse of free will.

It was just a turn of phrase. God's not important. What's important is that Americans get a choice. The world is counting on an American president who is serious about tackling climate change.

Americans don't deserve Hillary or Trump. They didn't vote for them. Hillary and Trump are the most unpopular presidential candidates ever. Money in politics is the problem and both candidates will do nothing about that.

The Democratic primary was rigged. The Republican primary was nuts. If the results reflected the wishes of Americans, Hillary and Trump would not have the lowest approval rates in American history.

"Hillary and Trump would not have the lowest approval rates in American history ." Source please.

The US system is corrupt but that's what they deserve. They are unable to challenge the corruption, or even acknowledge it in most cases - it doesn't fit in with the idealistic American mantra after-all, so it can't be true. People like COncernedCitizen remind us how sheltered and naive voters can be, and indeed how capitalist and money-driven, so tell me what other kind of election should they have? Transparent? Honest? Free? Democratic? Please.

The top single donation by an individual to a superpac in the current US election could have very nearly paid for all the campaigns of every single political party in the 2010 UK election.

According to LINK Jeb Bush received $86m from 'Right to Rise USA'. But Hillary does come second with $58m from 'Priorities USA Action'.

But you are right - of the candidates still standing, Hillary has received more SuperPAC help than Trump.

You know perfectly well it is. She has a lot to do to catch up with the ill gotten wealth in Trump's campaign. Even so, the top 5 individual superpac donations were fairly evenly split between her and Trump. It's not a Clinton thing, or even a Trump thing. It's a US corruption thing. Rotten to the core.

I did not "know perfectly well" at all but it's common knowledge she is beholden to big money. Yes, you're right, it is rotten to the core and Hillary is that core.

Sure you didn't. Well if you didn't know you should have.

Trump is even worse, with spending the donor money on his own businesses, with his blurring the boundaries between party donations and loans, and with his own money being even more corrupt.

The rotten core is the system itself. This was going on long before Hilary came onto the scene. It's not a Clinton thing, nor even a Democrat thing. It's a USA thing.

Well, by saying I "should have known" that Clinton was the recipient of the top single donation you're basically Inferring she is the most corrupt and, of course you know perfectly well she is as she has been voted so. Also polls say around 60-70% of Americans find her dishonest and untrustworthy not to mention the billions in their "charity fund" you know, the one that only dispenses about 10%? Trump has nothing on Hillary and there's a HUGE difference between a private individual and a person in public office as Clinton is using that office for personal gain. See the documentary 'Clinton cash' to see the scum bags, murderers, torturers etc. she and Bill rub shoulders with, can't even compare to Trump.

You should have known because it's obvious anyone up against a corrupt corporate fat cat like Trump (who has been getting hand outs since birth) has to find some big bucks somewhere. As you know, Hilary will never be the most corrupt when she's against someone like Trump. Just no contest at all. I don't like her, but she's obviously vastly less corrupt.

And lets not forget in the same polls Trump is also considered untrustworthy and dishonest to a large degree compared to former candidates. They are both profoundly unpopular. Hardly surprising with his funny claims about Mexico, about whites being killed by blacks, about meeting Putin, his hidden tax affairs etc. etc etc. And then the polls that say 66% that say Clinton has the right experience for presidency compared to 26% that say it about Trump, but then again you knew that too.

Look at documentaries like 'Donald Trump's Art of the Deal' , or 'A Dangerous Game', or 'A Different Kind of Donald Trump Story' to see the kind of mafia villains and Russian mobsters he consorts with, his shady deals and nepotism, his dodgy conduct with his tax affairs, his 'conservation areas' that are actually golf courses, his bankruptcies, his bank bailouts. I could go on all day but you don't seem to be the kinda guy who believes things he doesn't want to.

I'm not saying trump hasn't been involved in some shady dealings I'm saying the scale and scope of Hillays corruption and lying etc. is legendary and growing. Trump, as a private citizen, is pretty much free to associate with who ever he wants, Hillary on the other hand has been a public servant ,in one for or another, for most of her life in which she espouses, depending on the political climate at the time, liberal ideals such as women's rights, LGBT rights, minority rights etc. but is her and Bill have been courting the biggest dictators and suppressors of those very rights while enriching themselves to the tune of hundreds of millions, if not billions, of dollars. Like I said there is no comparison, not even close.

Yes, Hillary has experience, but it's basically been a disaster, just look at her voting record, there is no war she doesn't like, and the destruction of Libya and the death of hundreds of thousands of men, women and children, which is still on going, is in large part due to her going directly against pentagon worries of another Iraq. And let's not get going on the sanctions on Iraq that was again responsible for the deaths of hundreds of thousands of Iraqi children. I could go on but there are none so blind as those who don't want to see....

And now this...

Trump on the 28th August: “I think that both candidates, Crooked Hillary and myself, should release detailed medical records . I have no problem in doing so!”

His campaign manager today, when faced with Trump's release of very UNdetailed records: “I don’t know why we need such extensive medical reporting when we all have a right to privacy.”

You can trust him as far as you can throw him.
