Sam Harris gives atheists a bad name. I don't consider hm eloquent. Specious, grandiloquent maybe, but not eloquent. To me, he seems belligerant yet cowardly, evangelical, inconsistent and hypocritical, an intellectual lightweight, and ultimately downright obnoxious. As one tiny example of the sort of beliefs he has, his solution to gun crime is more guns. Ironically, he seems to be championed by lazy atheists looking for some kind or orator or leader, purely on account of his anti-religious beliefs, yet the more reflective members of the atheist community regularly wipe the floor with him. If you want a more credible and intelligent commentary on atheism or philosophy (including free will), I recommend you read some Daniel Dennett.
