We could feed Kool Aid to all Americans and get them to piss over the Arctic - that should help. Another suggestion: , , , why not build a giant umbrella in the stratosphere over the Arctic, to block the sunlight! I am sure readers here can come up with many more . . . . . . ANY IDEAS?

When the oceanic current patterns shift, established farmlands just stop working, or a positive feedback effect from subsea methane hydrates or Arctic soil methane occur, it will be too late to grudgingly decide to "try something to fix it." Think of efforts to switch to renewable energy, limit carbon emission- or even experiment with methods of reducing solar heating in the Arctic- like attempts to put out a kitchen fire before it extends beyond a frying pan or putting antibiotic on a wound before gangrene requires amputation. A stitch in time... may still work.
