Obviously you have never experienced addiction from the inside or outside. People do not want to die. It is genetic, just like cancer. Even if you stop, the threat is always there.

Ridiculous! I think if people want to overcome addiction they have to take responsibility for their own situation. Having your mother giving you a little pep talk doesn't hurt.
