A new NASA video shows Pluto in exquisite detail

(1:49) Over 3 billion miles is Pluto. Scientists at NASA have used data from the New Horizons spacecraft to create flyovers that are even closer than the actual spacecraft flew.

How did they do an "S" shaped run over the planet - it was supposed to be a fly-by which is circular? (see stars in horizon)

It's supposed to be a flyover, not a flyby, and because they are obviously recreating it with images and data they can choose whatever shape they want. It's only coincidence that the chair of NASA's advisory is called S teven S quyre s.
