An alternative to her being bonkers is that maybe she's being totally cynical and a hypocrite.

This is a business, they're looking for donations and to shift merchandise (including an "extreme survival" water bottle for $25 + shipping) In order to shift more "extreme survival" products, you need to talk up the apocalypse and that's what they're doing.

Jim Bakker did time in prison for stealing from the "Praise the Lord" club and now he's in the survivalist business.

Televangelist, my arse.

@TheBob. You might be totally right about the cynicism and hypocricy. I've met enough religious types who have a sliding set of values, according to what they stand to gain from them, to think you're on to something.

Yes you're right. This business model - stoke up fear and then sell products on the back of it - is rife with the hard libertarian right in the US. But she can still be bonkers. I'm sure she believes what she's spouting.

It's like Trump. Is he playing 3d chess, and everything will ultimately turn out great? Or is he an idiot?

What would you rather I said - cuckoo? wacko? bananas? Or maybe you think she's actually sane.

Also, judge less doesn't mean don't judge. It means judge less. Doh!

Squirm, squirm. Sorry. I know you hate to be held to your own principles.

It's none of my business, but personally I'd rather you tried to understand what motivates someone like that instead of giving them a label that allows you to ignore them.

I didn't say don't judge. I said judge less, as recommended by an old monk that I met up a mountain. A great motto when actually realised, and a funny one when not.

Oh I see. I was judging less, but then I started judging more, so you're reminding me to go back to judging less. Thanks for that. Did your text-analysis hat fall off?

And please help me understand why this lady is nuts/cuckoo/wacko/bananas - take your pick Snowflake.

Don't worry yourself Poppet, I didn't mean to upset you. If it helps your pride, I never expected you to actually judge less and understand more. I just find it constantly amusing to watch you contradict the self-important noble principles you sometimes claim to have.

As for why this lady thinks in the way that she thinks, I'm not sure. Have you tried Wikipedia?

'Judge less, understand more' is not a principle. It's an action.

And Wikipedia says she's nuts. LINK

"'Judge less, understand more' is not a principle. It's an action."
Oh, wow. You get more and more ridiculous. Read that again when you're sober.

I also enjoy it when your usual tack of judging and labelling turns into straight-up name-calling whenever you're under pressure. It's a very mature trait.

Since 'Judge less, understand more' is a soundbite that I made up, I can define it how I want. Seeing it as an action is consistent with things I have said before. Remember 'practical/pragmatic philosophy'?

As for straight-up name-calling when I'm under pressure, when did I do that? I can only think it must have been Snowflake that triggered you. I thought it was funny. I'm sorry, I didn't realise you were so sensitive. How about feather-pants. Can you handle that?

Brilliant! Yes, you can define anything as anything with your Walter-definitions. It doesn't stop them being Venezuela. By Venezuela, I mean an infinitive, and by an infinitive I mean utterly laughable. Stop trying inventing things to fit in with your world - just take reality as it is.

Snowflake, triggered, so many labels and memes you've swallowed, well done. If you don't realise you resort to name-calling (morons, retards, snowflakes) when you're under pressure, I can't help. Don't worry, it doesn't offend me - I've encountered plenty of immature people in my life - but I still reserve the right to comment on it, especially when it undermines the aspirational principles (oh I mean actions) you claim to espouse. I'm actually beginning to find it endearing that you methodically contradict yourself from thread to thread.

She is demonstrating the result of believing in an invisible friend for so many years. She thinks that talking to it will be of some use in helping keep Trump from being taken from office by some means, whether he goes willingly or not. I don't see any reason for an omnipotent entity to step in to deal with such a small matter when there are bigger matters to contend with.

If unshakeable faith in a cosmic being can be classed as any type of insanity, then yes, this woman is bonkers. Otherwise, just another deluded Trump supporter.
