This is NOT NEW! This is how all these things are done! Especially on a Friday, just before a holiday and also to bury these things when other World events are taking place! I do respect Elizabeth Warren, but this is nothing new as all parties have always done this!

You could be more helpful, Ms. Warren, if you would tell us what is wrong with the bill instead of complaining about the time they gave you to read it. I'm sure most of what's in there has been seen before and this is just the final version.

Even if it is something you agree with, you're going to vote against it because it's a GOP bill and you cannot have them win anything.

The point is that you cannot read close to 500 pages of legal text in under an hour and then give a qualified opinion.

For Warren, it doesn't matter what the bill says. If it's a GOP bill, she will not vote for it. No need to read it, just complain about it. That's all.

You can be sure that this is not the first time the bill was released and then she was given only one hour before everyone has to vote on it. She's making that up. The bill has been tossed around over and over again with negotiated edits being made along the way.

Regardless of your issue with Warren: Even if it is true that earlier versions of the bill were distributed - you don't vote for drafts, you vote for the final version. And therefore you must have sufficient time to check what you vote for, what may have been changed etc. An hour to check if all is how it was in the draft or if something has changed in close to 500 pages is simply not enough.

Would you find that sort of behaviour legitimate if it would have been the Democrats who act like that?

Why the rush, anyway. Why not give everybody the weekend to carefully go through the final version, and then vote?

You mean how the democrats rushed the approval of the "Affordable Healthcare Act" a.k.a. Obamacare?

Even with a majority of democrats in the house, it passed with the narrowest of margins. 100% of republicans voted against it and 34 democrats voted against it so it squeeked by 219 to 212. It should have been 253 to 178 but even many democrats didn't want it. They used the same tactics that the GOP is using now. But they don't need any democrats to vote for it as long as all the republicans do.

I don't know who told you that, but it is a lie. If you look on wikipedia:

"from June to September, the Senate Finance Committee held a series of 31 meetings to develop a healthcare reform bill"

31 meetings..... Thirty-one. Over 60 hours of meetings with republicans across 4 months. Democrats aren't perfect, but they are a hell of a lot better than republicans

Say something to the point: Is is okay to give the senators, regardless of which party they belong to , only an hour to proofread the final version of a bill with close to 500 pages?
