Why did this guy even turn up? He didn't even have the decency to blush while showing that he's poorly prepared and badly underqualified. He'll get the job, for sure.

Oh yet another Liberal champagne socialist ,telling us hardworking people what we're supposed to believe . I don't think so sunshine , deciding right from wrong (a judge) is NOT piloting a plane . I guess you leave your shopping down to experts along with wiping your own a$$ .

Hum. I can only hope should you ever have the misfortune to be putting your life in the hands of a Judge and their decision that they make a correct one for you. But if you prefer to have some random person picked from the streets to decide on whats just then go for it – might only mean the difference of a few years in our out of prison. But suppose it couldn’t realistically be just be a random person it would need agreeing that such a person would be able to read and write, may be resident in your country for X years, some experience of life (pos certain age), no previous themselves, hopefully some experience in your particular dilemma, would certainly help – at what point would you call such a person an Expert? But I get where you’re coming from, free world and all, you should be given the choice - so yes an idiot should be able to pick idiot if that’s what they want.

The worst part of the system in the US is that the people who make the laws are elected officials. The laws are created by Congress which is comprised of the House of Representatives and the Senate. There are no requirements to be elected to either of those except get the majority of votes from the citizens of their respected states. There is no hearing to determine their eligibility or knowlege on legal matters.

Case and point, Hillary was a senator and later the Secretary of State. Now we have Trump and neither of those two are qualified for the positions they held. But the voting of the citizens is all that matters. Flawed system.

Wrong . It's Jurors that decide on whether someone is guilty ,and Judges have to take into account public feeling . If they pass a sentence then the public can appeal it ,it goes to the the High Court because of public interest . Surprise surprise this happens more and more ,because people are fed up of elitist experts .

Latest comment:

So you dream of a world where we are told who and what to believe ,and our voice is no longer relevant . Want to represent the people ? Not unless you're one of a few political dynasties or went to a private school . Want to vote ? Not unless you're an expert with a degree in the history of politics . Want to wipe your own backside ? There is someone better qualified than you . Got to love your Leftist utopia .
