Very interesting comment. I believe it is an example of a restless mind, promoted by our current superficial media, with little room for contemplation og even "meditation" in the broader sense.

That would be an interesting study, comparing those who find this video boring with those who do not. Paradoxically, the former group is unlikely to be more experienced.

Professor Guesting always makes me giggle. It the mix of armchair psychology (usually thinly masking a weak insult), awkwardly verbose language, and the clear expectation of being taken seriously.

It's a winner every time, paradoxically.

I haven't read any of your previous replies to my comments. So I'm not sure what you are referring to and I am confused by someone declaring himself a winner in comments without any arguments. (Also, I am not interested in "winners" of discussions, but in the better argument or preferably, evidence.)

I am sorry to hear that you saw this (and other?) comments as an insult, and I am sorry to have provoked such a level of aggression. I meant my comment not as criticism of individuals, but of tendencies in the media. And I do think there's a link between our current media and restless minds.

True, I may have a tendency to see things from a psychological point of view, it comes as a side effect from my profession (researcher in psychology).

I should not insult people. So I am sorry to have insulted you now, and according to you earlier as well. Take care, stranger.

Read again, Professor... I said "it's a winner", not "I'm a winner". That academic eye of yours must have let you down.

You haven't insulted me, at least not on this thread, because mine wasn't the original comment that you decided to take issue with. Take the moral high ground here if you want, but it doesn't hide a long history of arrogant and presumptious comments that try to belittle those you disagree with, usually through the amateur 'diagnosis' of poorly-understood psychological behaviours. If you're unaware that you do this, I can ring a bell next time I see you doing it.

"Researcher in psychology"? A touch of the Walter Mitty. I don't need to disparage you any further, but you really need to try harder if you want that to seem credible.

I am not sure what you are referring to. I have a few times referred to research when people claim that their gut feelings tell them the truth. It makes no sense for me to defend myself against abstract criticism by someone so conspicious, whom I at some point have offended. Again, sorry for that, I have thought about that comment of yours and think I should be careful when commenting.

I'm at an university in the UK, if you're interersted. But no need to discuss further with that attitude of yours. Take care.

Thanks to the Boreme editor for selecting good videos. I will not post again, social media is a waste of time and you encounter a lot of aggression if you try.

When all comments are essentially anonymous, we all must draw conclusions from the content and style of your writing. I can't say there's anything you've commented that suggests you have ever had to study psychology (beyond Wikipedia), let alone read a degree which is usually the starting point of an academic researcher.

Of course none of this would matter one jot, if it wasn't for the fact that you climb atop this rather implausible pedestal to criticise others. You seem to have an amateur interest in psychology which should be encouraged, but I suggest you try to assimilate the theories you read and apply them to your own behaviours, instead of simply using them to 'explain away' and discredit beliefs you don't agree with.

So you won't post again? Fair enough, we shall see... or perhaps you'll just take to your guest account. But honestly, if this troubles you then maybe taking a break would be for the best. Interpreting my comments as aggressive must mean the internet is a very scary and hostile place for you. Find a 'safe space' and an area of expertise where you don't have to blag, and you'll be just fine.

And this guy complains about feeling insulted by others or that others appear arrogant to him.

PS. Even though I think you have weakened your credibility, I think your initial criticism of me had a valid point. I can be too arrogant and I deliberately tried to learn from your criticism when writing back. I cannot see that you applied the same criticism towards your own behaviour, but that's up to you. Anyway, thanks for reminding me that I sometimes become unnecessary arrogant.

Oh I see you've come back to us. Well done, that was a good few hours you lasted. A personal best.

An academic researcher ought to read more carefully.. I wasn't complaining about your veiled insults. If you re-read my first comment, I actually said that they make me giggle and "it's a winner". A funny sort of complaint, don't you think?

The observations that you find insulting are made from the point of view of a general observer. Note that I am not pretending to be a psychologist to give my allegations more credibility, nor to undermine any particular beliefs you have. See the difference?
