Erm, UK is on the same continent as France. If what you state were the case, the Channel would no longer be around in about 1700 yrs time. State where you got that bit of info from? In fact, the channel is widening, mostly due to erosion. Are you getting the Channel and the Atlantic Ocean and France and America mixed up? Atlantic ocean is widening by about 2cm each year.
