Bill O'Reilly's thoughts on Stephen Hawking

Bill O'Reilly's thoughts on Stephen Hawking

American TV host Bill O'Reilly responds to Stephen Hawking's assertion that science can explain everything without the need for a deity. Displaying a remarkable lack of insight, O'Reilly's questions are in fact easily explainable - many scientists can explain how the Earth got here, or why the tides never miss a beat. The question is why we exist at all. It seems perfectly logical to suggest that it's impossible for something to exist from nothing, yet against all intuition to suggest that things have always existed.

You don't need a diety to prove Americans are stupid - just Bill O'Relly it seems.

As a Christian and a mathematician, I found this "weekly insight" embarrassing. I dread to think what his other insights are.

Latest comment: Sorry..... who's the stupid one here? Oh the irony. But I have to agree with the sentiment with regards to this ill-informed AMERICAN gentleman. Bless his ignorant little socks. How long ago was this actually recorded? I think maybe both you, and Mr O'Reilly need to read more, and stop making ignorant sweeping statements based on incorrect knowledge.

If you cannot tell the difference between an English accent and an American one, ask a grown up to help you.

Perhaps, while he is at it, Mr Hawking can explain where babies come from or how to sharpen a pencil. Bill O'Reilly is an idiot. It is unfortunate that he has so much power and recognition in America.

"...who made a fortune being an atheist". A bit rich coming from a guy who, according to Newsweek, made $20 million in 2010.

Most schoolchildren could give answers to his questions and all his faith means is that he doesn't need to think critically about anything - all he has to do is say 'It's God's work' and go on being a total moron. If everyone was like him, we'd still be using oil lamps, horses and wagons and be riddled with disease.

That looks like FDR with Stalin. Billy has used Stalin as a a posterboy for atheism - Stalin was opposed to all religion, Bill makes the link that evil has come from being without a god. Bill also puts Hitler into this, again demonstrating his intellectual bankrupcy. Hitler was of course a Roman Catholic. I believe that most of the evil forces in the world are borne of religion.

Bill O'Jackass is not a smart man! He should jump off a building and land on his head. Hopefully he will stay alive just long enough to realise that a diety did not come to save him, and the the forces that acted upon him as he crashed into the ground are the same forces that explain all his questions.

I'm completely lost as to how O'Reilly can be that befuddled about the Sun rising and setting and the tides rolling in and out. He can't be that stupid. Why does he feel that he needs to pander to the religious right so badly that he must say things that he knows to be nonsense?

Isnt it slightly ironic that this imbecile has a picture of Stalin in the background? A man who said that religion is an opiate that needed to be removed, and whose government promoted atheism through schools and massive amounts of religious propaganda. The giy is a fool!

surely stephen hawking doesnt need to explain this to him, when anyone with a basic understanding of science and the natural world can explain these simple facts without entering into the question of the existence of god
