Despite being an atheist, i quite like what the bishop said, which was why do we require and expect a reward after death. And not just trust in death

Why on Earth would anyone suspend their reason when thinking about what what happens when they die? All power to the intellectual honesty of the Sea of Faith people who reject the superstition and understand the meaningful core of Christianity without the nonsense. The Bishop acknowledges he cannot know what happens after death, but still believes in God - middle of the road, mate - you'll get squashed.

Pascal's wager is alive and well, along with wishful thinking. A big question, but microscopically small answers.

Each of us as an individual has to come to terms of the fact that we will one day die.One can no more prove that there is nothing after death than one can prove there is something. Two hundred years ago the very concept of TV would have been looked upon the same as life after death..Just because it is outside our concsiosness does not mean that it does not exist. maybe it does, Maybe it does not.
