Racist comments by 2012 Republican presidential candidates

(5:28) On the eve of voting in the influential Iowa caucuses, 2012 Republican presidential candidates Mitt Romney, Ron Paul and Rick Santorum all uttered racist comments. These are now the three frontrunners for the Republican nomination. The Young Turks host Cenk Uygur gives his take.

The Young Turks have just lost a lot of credibility with me. Completely exaggerated and taken out of context (especially Ron Paul's 'carefully' selected quotes). I'm not American, but if I was I would without doubt vote Ron Paul.

As I see it, the real problem is that they are not enforcing the laws on illegal immigration. Having a baby as soon as they can when they get into America is something that many Illegal immigrants do on purpose. They are betting on not being kicked out because they have an American child. If the schools know who the children are then the authorities should be knocking on their doors and escorting their parents out of the country. They are free to take their American children with them, or not. Once they have legally applied to reside in the US, They can bring their American children back with them! My daughter was adopted by my American husband, She was issued an American birth certificate however....... Non of this gives her the legal right to live in the states. She would have to apply for residency the same as I would. It would cost us about a thousand bucks each and a couple of years to do it. If we crossed the border and tried to stay illegally, we would be kicked back into Canada and be refused entry into the US forever! If the children of these illegals are American, Then they should be allowed to receive an education but their parents should be kicked out immediately! Hard on the kids......Yes, But if they leave with the parents they can return when they become adults. Why is there such a massive illegal immigrant problem in the states?? Because no one is taking a hard line and doing something to stop it. The immigrants KNOW this, They might be illegal, but they are not stupid!

Cenk Uygur You exaggerate what has been said and try to fire up anger in minorities. I have a major issue with your belief that the American public should be morally and/or financially responsible for the children of illegal immigrants. Why is it that the parents who entered into the country illegally are not the ones to blame for their children's predicament? You talk about the fact that you believe there should be laws (So that "Walmart" etc cannot discriminate against blacks for instance) yet you are willing to allow Illegal immigrants to break the immigration laws of the country and benefit from that. I am Canadian, My husband is American, It took us 3 years and a whole lot of money just to get him permanent residence status in Canada. We did it the legal way! If we have to do that, then EVERYONE should have to go through the same process. How can anyone support laws that benefit a person who enters a country illegally? And YES Supporting the children of Illegal immigrants IS benefiting Illegal immigrant parents. There should be punishments for the parents who came here illegally. If you know who the children are.....Then you know who the parents are!! How come they are still here?? Place blame and responsibility where it belongs, With the parents and stop trying to guilt Americans into supporting this behavior!!

"Why is it that the parents who entered into the country illegally are not the ones to blame for their children's predicament" - Nobody talked about blame, but those children didn't have a choice. Smart people benefit a country so why should smart immigrants, there through no fault of their own be pushed into military service but not be allowed an education. It is a human right to be able to get an education. Also many countries would not see that child as their responsibility, if a child is born in the USA, it is a US citizen and while it's parent's country would probably welcome a change of nationality, the child still has a right to live in the US and remain in the US even if his or her parents do not. Conversely, you and your husband had a choice, my wife and I went through something similar and I do see where you're coming from, but we're talking about the unchoosing children and not the adults who illegally entered the country.
