What happens if a bag of rubbish is thrown into a volcano?

(0:49) Within certain circles, it is often discussed whether it is possible to sink in lava. It is possible to briefly walk on certain types of lava if professional heat-protective clothing is worn. But if you break through the crust, you are in for a warm end. This test was done with a box of camp waste (largely organic matter) in a bin bag. Estimated weight 30kg falling from about 80 metres. Location: Erta Vale volcano in Ethiopia.

It's a good thing they didn't throw two bags. The Volcano might have erupted!

or just burn the waste where it is and make electricity out of it, instead of driving it around the world to the next active volcano... also greenhouse gases are released by doing this

Latest comment: it is possible to sink in lava, if you have a higher density than the lava
