TYT - Good atheists can get to Heaven according to Pope Francis

TYT - Good atheists can get to Heaven according to Pope Francis

(2:56) Leader of 1.2 billion Roman Catholics, Pope Francis has declared that atheists can make it into Heaven. Inspired by the Gospel of Mark, the Pope explained how upset Jesus' disciples were when someone outside their group was doing good. To which Jesus replied, "do not hinder him, let him do good."

This might just be one of the most important and intelligent things a Pope has come out with in a long, long time.

according to the Catholic faith, of you repent of your sins before you die, you can go to heaven. So yes, even pedophiles go to catholic heaven if they repent of their sins.

Don't worry guys. The infallible pope has been overruled by the Vatican. Atheists might as well stop doing good because they're going to Hell anyway. LINK

well if i'm gonna go to hell anyway... might as well become a banker and start a sub-prime mortgage loans economic bubble :) If the pope says that atheists won't go to heaven OK! but if this Rosica dude says it , then it doesn't mean anything.

Finally a pope that addresses one of the many contradictions of the Bible. Are we saved through Works? No according to three scriptures: Ephesians 2:8,9 "For by grace are ye saved through faith . . . not of works." Romans 3:20,28 "Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight." Galatians 2:16 "Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ." And Yes according to these two: James 2:24 "Ye see then how that by works a man is justified, and not by faith only." Matthew 19:16-21 "And, behold, one came and said unto him, Good Master, what good thing shall I do, that I may have eternal life? And he [Jesus] said unto him . . . keep the commandments. . . . The young man saith unto him, All these things have I kept from my youth up: what lack I yet? Jesus said unto him, If thou wilt be perfect, go and sell that thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven."

so really, (and I'm paraphrasing here): "Old man who believes in imaginary invisible being and supernatural phenomena circumscribes more widely the group of dead people whom he believes can enter an imaginary and fictional place." Does that sum it up for you?

If you're talking about me, I'm not going to heaven because that place does not exist. That is, of course, if you're talking about the Biblical heaven. When I die, I will be cremated and reduced to nothing but ashes and probably thrown away.

any person can go to heaven if they do good, even an atheist banker, with the condition to do good, and by good the christian pope means help the poor, care for the weak, provide social aid to the lest fortunate classes of people, do not steal, do not defend those who steal with weak rationalizations. Have i mentioned that i'm really diggin' this new pope, even if i'm an atheist? he really seams like a nice guy...

A very good question. I've always understood the catholic church to be rather implicit in it's condemnation us. An interesting dichotomy I think.....
