Traitor is a strong word, but I'm sure this guy did have to sign some form of an official secrets act while working at the NSA, based on that he must be charged with releasing information without authorization, and punished accordingly.

Just because you sign a contract doesn't mean you have to honor it I'f the contract itself includes illegal conduct, in this case by the govt. then it is his duty to expose it. As the Obama admin. has shown through its persecution of whistleblowers Snowden had little other choice.

Listen to yourself, it's OK to break a contract why do we have contract then, if your going to work for any government agency your going to be asked to sign a confidentiality agreement, once you sign it you are bound by it , this moron should be extradited back to the states and tried for his crimes, and I don't think traitor is too strong a word to use when describing this guy. Hang 'em high.

By saying what you just said, you are condoning WHATEVER the US gov't. does as being fine. Don't you care about your liberties, your freedom, your privacy? That's what this guy Snowden is about. Not shutting down all security - only using what is necessary. Being a patriot doesn't mean you have to mindlessly swallow what you're fed, especially if it's bullshit.

And you completely ignore the contract the govt. has with the people , what about that? As I said a contract is invalid if it includes violating the law.
