And people want to try and colonise Mars. Why? It looks barren, inhospitable and desolate, even when it was clear enough to take these images.

Given that every breath of oxygen, drop of water and scrap of food would have to be transported such a vast distance and the colonists would perish without continual support, I can't help thinking that we should put more effort into making this planet (the one we know we can live on) our number one priority.
