“Mr. Speaker, this goes to show that in the United Kingdom, no one is above the law.”  Except for the monarch who can do no wrong.

“Criminal proceedings are still prohibited from being brought against Her Majesty's Government unless expressly permitted by the Crown Proceedings Act.”  “As the Crown Proceedings Act only affected the law in respect of acts carried on by or on behalf of the British government, the monarch remains personally immune from criminal and civil actions.”

It's true that in the UK, a figurehead with minimal opportunity to commit serious crime is difficult to be held accountable under the law.  That's fairly commonplace.  However there have been instances in the past where parliament has been able to dethrone a Queen, instances where pariliament has been able to seize power, instances where the monarch has been forced to abdicate.

The UK is not like the USA where the head of administrative government is untouchable, and (unlike the Queen) has daily opportunity to commit some of the most serious crimes on behalf of the nation.  There is no part of the constitution that gives anyone the right to prosecute president and no court has ever ruled it would be possible.  Having a impeachment process for an  administrative government where the defendant can opt out is absurd, and allowing presidential pardons from the same branch of government is also crazy.  Unlike the UK, the USA has examples in living memory where they have tried to prosecute a criminal president but haven't been able to.  How's that for "doing no wrong"?!

This was why poor Mueller was never going to get anywhere.

Very Funny and you know that's off topic so that comment was posted purposely in an attempt to make me angry or something.  Doesn't work, sorry.

He is a hero, and has done the world a great service exposing all kinds of corrupt and rotten practises. At the very least he should be awarded a Nobel Prize.
